Things to keep in mind...
- Try to eat seasonally and, if you can, locally. Not only will the produce taste better, but it travels less of a distance (thus, being fresher and having a lesser impact on the environment) and supports local farmers.
- Organic is always best! Eating pesticides isn't much fun and supporting hazardous agricultural practices isn't enjoyable either.
- All that in mind, I understand (being a college student and everything) that it isn't always possible to afford to buy organic and/or local. That is okay. Being a conscious consumer is about doing what is in your power to make better choices.
