Vegan Snack Ideas

I honestly can emphasize the importance of healthy snacks enough. Some of us are able to thrive on three meals a day whereas the rest of us need a snack every now and again to ensure we maintain the our energy levels. It is a good idea to make sure you eat something (although it doesn't have to be huge) every 3-4 hours to ensure that your blood sugar levels don't plummet. Below is a list of snack ideas that range from light snacks to more substantial snacks. Pick what with satisfy your hunger the best and keep your energized for whatever your day has in store.

  • fruit chunks/slices/berries
  • apples with nut butter (e.g., peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, etc.)
  • trail mix (This is best when you make it yourself!)
  • hummus and veggies/pita chips
  • coconut date balls
  • simple energy bars (These are also best when you make them yourself!)
  • cup of tomato soup with a few whole grain crackers
  • air popped popcorn with nutritional yeast, salt, and/or herbs
  • small fruit smoothie (see here for smoothie ideas)
  • celery with nut butter and raisins
  • whole grain toast with nut butter and banana
  • fruit salad
  • dried fruit and nuts
  • miscellaneous veggies
